Why We Founded FarmVestor

The price of farmland presents a huge investment challenge.  Most parcels sell in 160-acre tracts, which will cost in excess of $1,000,000.

Investment by a single investor is often out of reach.

FarmVestor will provide investors access to this type of investment with a low minimum investment of around $20,000.

Management of farmland investments presents a challenge for individual investors.

Unless an investor has a background in real estate or farming, managing farmland is difficult. Our team provides full-service property management functions making an investment in farmland seamless and easy.

FarmVestor was founded in 2021 out of a passion to help both farmers and investors.

For investors, the high cost of farmland plus having a significant cash down payment makes investing in farmland unattainable for most. For farmers, their operation requires significant working capital, and those costs keep increasing.

Farmland is the most expensive asset that farmers need in their business, and the ability to partner with high-quality farmers to maintain or expand their operations while providing investors with access to the farmland asset class seemed like a perfect combination.

Travis Augustin

Since his start in 1995 as an auction assistant and ring man, Travis has become integral to FarmVestor’s goal of connecting farmers with innovative sales and leasing opportunities.

With a decade of experience running his own row crop and cow/calf operation, Travis deeply understands the needs and challenges of the farming community. His firsthand knowledge of production agriculture and his expertise in ag real estate make him exceptionally equipped to serve clients with a unique combination of insight and practical experience.

Licensed in real estate in Nebraska and Kansas, Travis has spent years honing his skills, including formal training at the World Wide College of Auctioneering. He has managed hundreds of successful farmland and property transactions, continually driven by a commitment to farmers and investors alike.

Travis’s passion is helping farmers and investors build prosperous futures. With his vast knowledge, hands-on experience, and dedication, Travis is a trusted partner in farmland and investment opportunities.

Ryan Samuelson

Ryan’s roots in agriculture run deep, shaped by years of hands-on experience with hay and livestock, giving him unique insight into the needs of today’s farmers and land investors.

Once Ryan obtained his Nebraska real estate license, he quickly advanced to secure his Broker’s license in both Nebraska and Kansas. In 2014, he sharpened his auctioneering skills at the World Wide College of Auctioneering, kicking off a successful career leading personal property and equipment auctions.

As FarmVestor continues to embrace new methods, including online and simulcast auctions, Ryan’s adaptability remains invaluable. He believes, “The auction business will keep evolving, and those who adapt in marketing will thrive.”

His dedication to family and farming fuels his work with FarmVestor, creating successful partnerships and opportunities for clients across the agricultural sector.

DJ Pfeiffer

Raised on a fifth-generation family farm near Trumbull, NE, DJ has a natural affinity for agriculture, paired with a comprehensive understanding of the industry gained through his career.

With a degree in Agricultural Economics and professional experience ranging from crop adjusting to merchandising and nationwide sales, DJ brings a well-rounded approach to FarmVestor. His real estate credentials in Nebraska and auctioneering expertise further enhance his role, supporting FarmVestor’s commitment to impactful farmland investment.

DJ’s dedication to family and community is at the heart of his work. He strives to create valuable opportunities in farmland ownership that benefit both farmers and investors.

Andrew Janzen

Consultant

He was raised on a Nebraska farm where he was involved in all aspects of the family farming operation. While accompanying his father to meetings with the banker, accountant, and other advisors, he learned first-hand the importance of these advisors to the success of the farming operation. This ultimately steered him on a slightly different career path.

As a certified public accountant, Andrew has spent the last 25 years as a trusted advisor to the agriculture industry, specializing in areas of financial reporting, tax planning, entity structuring, estate, and gift tax planning, and trust and estate administration.

His experience includes serving as president and shareholder for the Hastings, Nebraska location of a top 100 U.S. public accounting firm, and most recently as the chief financial officer for one of the largest U.S. organic grain producers.

His passion for farming and farmland ownership, expertise in the agricultural industry, and desire to help both farmers and investors led to the founding of FarmVestor.

Kelly Augustin
